The Weekly Riff: “Shots” by Charm City Devils Bassist Anthony Arambula

In your face, Glenn Fricker. Now the bassists are showing the guitarists what to do, or at least in the specific case of Charm City Devils. The main riff to their song “Shots” is played essentially the same way on the bass guitar or the tenor one, so CCD bassist Anthony Arambula stepped up to the task of showing you how it’s done.

Wait, CCD? Isn’t that what the Catholic Church named its religious instruction program? Coincidence… or conspiracy?! Well, coincidence, obviously. Although I haven’t ruled out a “charge-coupled device” conspiracy. Moving along…

“Shots” can be heard on Charm City Devil’s recent album Battles, which is out now on The End Records. You can catch the band on tour at one of the shows listed below.

Nov 20     The Paramount – Huntington, NY
Nov 26     Baltimore Soundstage     Baltimore, MD

Dec 19     Starland Ballroom – Sayreville, NJ

Chris Alfano has written about music and toured in bands since print magazines and were popular. Once in high-school he hacked a friend's QBasic stick figure fighting game to add a chiptune metal soundtrack. Random attractive people still give him high-fives about that.
