Earlier this year, MetalSucks and Converse teamed up to jump-start a bunch of young bands’ studio work with some free sessions at Converse’s Rubber Tracks studios in Boston and New York. Those bands had the extreme fortune to work with some of the most talented engineers in the metal game today, Will Putney (Fit For An Autopsy) and Kurt Ballou (Nails, Kvelertak, etc).
Metal Injection sat down with Will to talk shop about engineering, starting with some very elementary tips on how to prepare your band for the studio. This video will be of particular use for young bands thinking about going to record for the first time – so check it out:
