JOHN PETRUCCI Talks Growing Up and Creativity On STRING THEORY With ERNIE BALL

It’s sort of humbling to hear how legends like John Petrucci started playing guitar. It can be easy to forget that we all have to start somewhere with our playing, even if the destination is touring the globe with 10+ records under your belt. Either way, the guy certainly has some perspective on the whole thing, and recently took a moment to sit down on Ernie Ball’s “String Theory” segment and talk about his musical upbringing and creative process. And in true John Petrucci fashion, it’s pretty freaking cool. Check it.

To get more Petrucci in your life, check out this video of him playing the Super Mario Bros. theme, or this one where the REAL John Petrucci makes an appearance. Stay ‘Troochy.
