Sometimes my hardest job as a writer is to find things in the center of the Venn diagram that are relevant to our website (metal AND gear AND interesting), and sometimes I find stuff that is SO interesting that I can’t decide what needs to go in the headline.
If you haven’t already guessed that this is one of those things, then I need to start looking for other work.
In this video, we get to see the beast that is the Shred Sled, Immortal Guardian (whose Gabriel Guardian graced our page some time back with his dual guitar/keyboard version of Cemetery Gates)’s mobile metal stage, being chased by some of the maniacs of Jackass while they play a sweet power metal version of the Jackass theme music. We are then treated to a slew of creative match-ups of silly footage of the Jackasses and the names of the bands that will be performing at Fun Fun Fun fest 2014.
The Shred Sled just makes my day. I can’t think of a better way to bring the metal to the masses, and Immortal Guardian is the fun and shred-tastic band for the job. Fun is an element that the patches-on-denim crowd frowns upon, and that sucks, because nobody likes a negative nancy. So that makes them a perfect fit for this festival.
Here’s more footage of the Shred Sled in action:
Bands at the festival that will likely be of interest to our readers include:
Judas Priest
King Diamond
The Blood Brothers
Gorilla Biscuits
Amon Amarth
Failure
Glassjaw
Sick Of It All (Blood Sweat/Scratch The Surface)
