Dragonforce Is Bringing Back the Keytar, Also the ’80s Apparently

Remember back in those bygone halcyon days of the ’80s, when thrash metal was king, the drums were fake, and the guitars had no headstocks? Man, we’ll never see any of that in our lives again, huh?

But keytars? Totally back. They’re “bad” as in “good.” So of course Dragonforce are at the forefront of movement. If any other band is going to rock a keytar, then Dragonforce is going to do it twice as fast. Because that’s what they do. Here’s Vadim Pruzhanov showing off his new Korg RK-100S. And a badass glove. I mean, not as “bad” as this one. But, it’ll get the job done.

Chris Alfano has written about music and toured in bands since print magazines and mp3.com were popular. Once in high-school he hacked a friend's QBasic stick figure fighting game to add a chiptune metal soundtrack. Random attractive people still give him high-fives about that.
