Acorn Amplifiers is here to give you a fuzz pedal that not only sounds fuzzy as hell, but also looks suspiciously like HAL 9000 from 2001: A Space Odyssey. So basically you’re winning on all fronts.
The Acorn Amplifiers TMA-1 is a four stage transistor fuzz pedal with selectable diode clipping options in two separate stages of the fuzz circuit, essentially allowing you to pick-and-choose your tone. Then there’s the red HAL 9000 light, which Acorn points out “to remind humans of the impending singularity that threatens to doom mankind.” It also lets you know when the pedal is engaged… but the doom thing sounds way cooler, and depending on your volume might actually be accurate.
The TMA-1 is available here for $199.
