If you’re not familiar with San Diego’s noise/death-surf hardcore outfit Retox, I feel bad for you. The band, led by a number of the city’s weird music scene veterans including Justin Pearson (The Locust, Head Wound City, 31G Records, etc etc) dropped one of the hardest albums of the year so far in Beneath California and have been hitting it hard on the road since.
Retox are a great band, with a totally unique take on the genre. They’re a rarity and the kind of band you shouldn’t take for granted. Which you can get a taste of below in the band’s recordings for the Pyles Sessions, done at Phaser Control Studios in San Diego. Check it out below:
