As much as I think it’s a bit of a downgrade for Jeff Loomis to join Arch Enemy (a band I love, but doesn’t require his immense technical skills), it’s definitely an upgrade for them (as was the addition of new vocalist Alissa White-Gluz) so I’m all for it. Plus, I’m sure Jeff enjoys not having to play all the notes all the time.
In light of that, Jeff recorded this little tutorial for his lead parts to the re-recorded “Stolen Life”, from Arch Enemy’s newest album War Eternal, out now on Century Media. This lesson is from the fine folks at Guitar Pro, and the full tab and info is available on their website.

This is like professional juggler making a “how it’s done” for beginners and nobody learns a shit. Another thing is it must be killing Loomis being ended up in such a shitty band.

yeah because chris amott doesn’t have immense technical skills. I’m a big arch enemy fan and really their entire catalogue is really pretty impressive as far as guitar playing goes. I’d like to see trey xavier play any of chris’s shit flawlessly…fuckin goon
