Maruta are not only a standout Florida grindcore band – they’re also quite possibly porn star Mia Khalifa‘s favorite metal band (which, if you follow her Instagram, you know is a big deal – she’s not easy to please). They’ve recently released their first album in four years, Remain Dystopian, which has been hailed as a highlight of the year so far, and one of the best grind albums in recent times.
Remain Dystopian is really no-holds barred. It’s production team includes instrumental engineering by Pig Destroyer’s Scott Hull and vocal recording by Torche’s Jonathan Nuñez, and features guest spots from Tomas Lindberg of At the Gates and Disfear, as well as J.R. Hayes of Pig Destroyer and Jay Randall of Agoraphobic Nosebleed. Yeah, you read that shit right.
Needless to say, get with this band. You can start right now, with drummer Danny Morris’ playthrough of the album’s title track live in-studio with Scott Hull. Dig it:
Remain Dystopian is out now via Relapse. Pick it up here.
