Jesus man, my hands hurt just watching this. Zakk Wylde swung by the EMG studios and tested out an acoustic pickup by playing the damn thing like an electric guitar. I’d imagine most of our readers would have trouble playing this with 9s, much less with a bronze set of 12s.
I was also kind of surprised by the electric-sounding tone he got out of that Epiphone acoustic. The EMG pickup model is an ACS. Personally I’ll always take a mic (or three) over an acoustic pickup, but if you need to amplify yourself live with a band, well I have to say this doesn’t sound half band.
