Axe Hacks: Installing Passive Pickups Is Actually More Complicated than Putting in Active Ones

You’d expect that active pickups would be the tricky ones, wouldn’t you? Or at least I did, not being well-versed in the ethereal vagueries of wiring. When we last caught Axe Hacks installing pickups, they were putting active EMGs into a guitar, but now we’re going back… to the future. And as host Kris Yates demonstates, putting passives like these Bare Knuckle Black Hawks into a guitar is actually a lot more complicated, due to the number of possible configuration options.

It’s weird though, because as I understood it the only thing you had to do to install Knuckles was to plug in his cartridge first, and then the original Sonic 3 just connected to the top of that
