NAMM 2015 – Per Nilsson Performance

Scar Symmetry‘s Per Nilsson is a shredder’s shredder. A dude who has massive respect for and knowledge of the classics, but still pushes forward to new and exciting sounds. After years of playing Ibanez, last year he announced his signature Singularity model through Strandberg (although as of this writing, it’s still not available on the website and I haven’t seen anyone other than Per playing one).

Then, towards the end of last year, he announced that he would be undertaking a solo project as well, Per Nilsson’s Shapeshifter. He told me at NAMM to be sure to bother him about it til he gets it done, so Per, consider this my first reminder. The next one I’m gonna carve into my arm and send you a Polaroid (it will be a totally asymmetrical scar too).

Until then, enjoy Per ripping on two Scar Symmetry jams at the Strandberg booth at NAMM:

As Editor-in-Chief of Gear Gods, I've been feeding your sick instrument fetishism and trying unsuccessfully to hide my own since 2013. I studied music on both coasts (Berklee and SSU) and now I'm just trying to put my degree to some use. That's a music degree, not an English one. I'm sure you noticed.
