NAMM 2014: The Djentstick Goes Pro – The Noodle

NAMM is full of all kinds of wacky crap, and most of the weirdness is confined to the basement level where the cheapest booths are. So I was surprised to find something as goofy and fun as Slaperoo’s The Noodle on the main floor, in the open, where everyone could see.

According to the website, “Held like a guitar, the Noodle can make anyone with rhythm sound like a slap-bass player. It can also be flexed to sound like an electric talking drum.” It seemed to me like a fun instrument for anyone to play, regardless of musical talent or ambition, so I stopped and let them give me their pitch.

As Editor-in-Chief of Gear Gods, I've been feeding your sick instrument fetishism and trying unsuccessfully to hide my own since 2013. I studied music on both coasts (Berklee and SSU) and now I'm just trying to put my degree to some use. That's a music degree, not an English one. I'm sure you noticed.
