People are always telling me “I know what hardcore is, and I know what pop punk is, but wtf is easycore?” And although I’ve mastered the elevator speech (“…imagine djenty riffs in major keys, mixed with bouncy breakdowns, lyrics about suburban adolescent angst, and the occasional death growl”), I am still too often met with confusion.
But that’s ok! Language doesn’t “speak” music – music does! Our pal Jared Dines put together this neat little clip, in which he displays the differences between hardcore and easycore on a purely mechanical, riff-based level. I hope you all find this helpful.
What are your thoughts? What’s the best – hardcore, or easycore? Dines has got a poll open right now, so you can make your voice heard.
