French tech death enthusiasts Gorod have always been a pretty cool band. I’ve been aware of them since somewhere around 2007-08. They have always been interesting to me because where a lot of tech bands tend to lose the listener by BLINDING them with unmemorable tech, Gorod retains a certain level of pop catchiness (but obviously in a tech metal context.) Their riffs are always super memorable without sacrificing any of their artistic or technical integrity.
Anyway, Gorod is releasing a new record entitled ÆTHRA on October 19th of this year via OverPowered Records and its definitely sounding like its shaping up to be a slammer. Everything that I’ve come to love about this band seems to be present in this studio update, which has me excited to check out the record once it drops.
Here’s what these gents are using in this:
Nicolas Alberny:
Eagletone Custom “LEIA” Model
Seymour Duncan “Pearly Gates” pickups
Mathieu Pascal:
Mermet Guitars Custom
Seymour Duncan SH7 pickup
> Nescafe Model Senseo> Line6 HELIX
Benoît “Barby” Claus:
Dingwall ABZ5
FDV pickups
> Two Notes LeBass preamp
You can pre-order physical copies of the new record here or digital versions on Amazon, iTunes, and Google Play.
