Tom Fountainhead is the new guy in Obscura. He had some pretty damn big shoes to fill after the departure of Christian Muenzner, who, for reference, also played lead guitar in Necrophagist.
So it’s relieving and encouraging to see that Tom has no problem tearing his way through an Obscura tune – even augmenting the solo with his own interpretation and inflection. I’m excited to see what this guy can do when a new album is in the works.
