KMFDM Guitarist ANDEE BLACKSUGAR Shreds Through This Exclusive Playthrough Of “Piggy”

In the wake of the release of their newest album, Paradise, which dropped on September 27th, 2019, German industrial band KMFDM have been busy making sure their massive sound is being heard. This year has marked a grand total of a whopping 35 years of continuity for the band, and now guitarist Andee Blacksugar is here with an exclusive playthrough for their track “Piggy”, only right here, on Gear Gods!

Now, this playthrough is unlike any other we’ve premiered here on the site. Instead of a typical run-through of the song, Andee plays along to the song but each effect in the signal chain is emphasized at one point or another throughout the whole piece. This lets the listener hear exactly what effects are going on at each point, and gives some small insight into the madness that is this band’s overall sound. Tying industrial, techno, heavy metal, and shoegaze into one tight package, “Piggy” is a great example of the diverse array of sounds KMFDM are able to craft within just one track, and Andee’s spot-on playing only enhances that effect.

As for those effects and gear, here’s what Andee is rocking:

  • GUITARS: Blacksugar Stratocaster, Sully Stardust
  • AMPS: Atomic Amplifire 12 Amp Modeler
  • EFFECTS: Eventide H9, Boss Super Shifter
  • DAW: Cubase

Be sure to get Paradise on Bandcamp, Spotify, and Apple Music, and don’t forget to follow the band on Facebook to keep up with their onslaught of sick tuneage. RAWK.
