As part of Metal Month, Toontrack and Jamtrackcentral.com have thrown down the ultimate gauntlet. They want to see your version of this Jeff Loomis song (recorded, of course, with Jeff’s sounds from the EZMix2 expansion Metal Guitar Gods 2), and they’ve provided a backing track for you to do so. The cool part is this: it’s NOT a contest. It’s just an opportunity for you to get your jam on, and share the track with other shredders in the shred community and feel closer to your fellow nerd.
So the general idea is that you’ll listen to the song 245653456356 times, learn it, then record a video of yourself playing it and upload it to Facebook with the hashtag #JeffLoomisChallenge. Then you and your friends just enjoy and compare the many different versions.
