GOROD Guitarist Nicolas Alberny Rips Through “Dig Into Yourself”

Guitarist Nicolas Alberny of the French tech death band, Gorod, recorded a playthrough of “Dig Into Yourself” for this Gear Gods exclusive. The track is featured on the band’s last full-length, A Maze of Recycled Creeds, released in 2015. The album made it to Trey’s Top 10 Albums of 2015, as well.

Nicolas Alberny has a velvety smooth touch that’s evident here, so it’s well worth your time if you like to geek out on other players’ technique. He’s also playing a 7-string Washburn Parallaxe through a Randall Thrasher if either—or both—of those pleasantly rustles your jimmies.

Of course, we can’t forget the all-powerful picking hand wristband. When used correctly, the eliminated friction between arm and guitar body will make you run faster and jump higher, guaranteed. Some also come with a list of offensive football plays on the underside. The positive impact this has on guitar playing hasn’t been proven yet, but I’m sure it can’t hurt.

In the meantime, you can keep up with the rest of the Gorod family right here. Also, be sure to give A Maze of Recycled Creeds a spin if you haven’t done it yet. You’ve had plenty of time, so no more excuses. There’s an official lyric video for “Temple to the Art of God” if you need extra convincing.
