CIRCUITRY – Christian Colabelli – “States of Existence” Exclusive Guitar Playthrough

New Jersey’s Circuitry are currently in the process of pre-production for their follow-up to the self-titled full length that they released in 2014. To soothe the waiting process I’m sure you are enduring now that you know that, we’ve got an exclusive playthrough of their song “States of Existence” by guitarist Christian Colabelli, and you can watch it right now!

The playthrough was shot by the prolific Ben Dundas.

According to Christian,

The guitar is a Strandberg Boden Custom shop from the last run at the Washburn Custom Shop. Black Limba bod, cocobolo neck, koa top, BKP Juggernaut pickups. Strings are an optimized tension set made for me by DR 9.5, 13, 16, 24, 34, 46, 65. Tuning is drop Ab (low to high Ab, Eb, Ab, Db, Gb, Bb, Eb). Also, I’m using Pickboy Picks: Pos-A-Grip 1.5mm tortoise shell cellulose which I’ve been endorsing for years.

As for the song, it touches on the stark finality of our decisions and how we as human beings tend to create a veil that shrouds us from taking responsibility for our actions. I’m sure every guy in the band would tell you something slightly different.

As Editor-in-Chief of Gear Gods, I've been feeding your sick instrument fetishism and trying unsuccessfully to hide my own since 2013. I studied music on both coasts (Berklee and SSU) and now I'm just trying to put my degree to some use. That's a music degree, not an English one. I'm sure you noticed.

  • Dude can rip, but the tone sounds like they left a filter on the track and forgot to take it off, amirite?

  • I remember when misha mansoor wrote this song 8 years ago.
