Between the Buried and Me’s “Ants of the Sky” Is 13 Or So Minutes of Drum Cam Mania

Sometimes you have a fix for drum cam footage but you’re short on cash. You need to stretch those dollars. Some 1 and 1/2 minute grindcore just isn’t going to give you that bang for the buck that you need in this economy. It’s not like YouTubes are free. Thank god for Between the Buried and Me and their 13+ minute songs. This is how you stretch your song budget. You could argue that a prog-metal opus has plenty of content without that cowboy shuffle near the end, but you’d be wrong.

Chris Alfano has written about music and toured in bands since print magazines and mp3.com were popular. Once in high-school he hacked a friend's QBasic stick figure fighting game to add a chiptune metal soundtrack. Random attractive people still give him high-fives about that.

    • Took the words out of my mouth. “Sun of Nothing” into this song sends shivers down my spine every time.

  • Was this at the TLA last night? That show was beyond amazing. My ears are still ringing. Blake is a tank.

    • That show was fucking flawless. My body is so sore.
