Svalbard will release their new record The Weight Of The Mask on October 6 and we’re thrilled to premiere bassist Matt Francis’ playthrough of the debut single “Faking It”.
“The main goal of my playing in Svalbard is to keep up the energy whilst being totally locked in to the relentless rhythms,” said Francis. “Keeping a solid grounding for the post-metal style guitar tones to be able to soar into vast depths and spaces. My choice of gear reflects that, allowing thunderous lows to balance with cutting, percussive highs. This allows me to keep that solid grounding whilst also pushing forward the rhythmic elements.”
