Orange is now streaming a brand new demo of their MK Ultra Marcus King head in collaboration with Jam In The Van.
The MK Ultra is Orange’s first-ever amplifier designed with Orange USA and built in the USA. The MK Ultra – a hand-wired 30-watt all-valve – uses custom Heyboer transformers and is driven by a pair of 12AX7 preamp valves feeding into a power amp section consisting of two 6L6GC power valves that are cathode-biased. This choice of output valves is a first for Orange, bringing out all the harmonics and touch sensitivity that King (and you) clearly need.
The MK Ultra offers a simple 3-knob layout – Volume, Sing (treble), and Deep (bass) controls – alongside a Standby switch. On the amplifier, King offered: “For me to have a signature amp with Orange is just like a childhood dream that’s come true. It’s a uniquely crafted American amplifier by a British company for a uniquely crafted American Man.”
