The ESP LTD EC-400QM brings the company’s celebrated Eclipse-inspired single-cut design to a more accessible price point without sacrificing the features that have made the series a favorite among rock and metal players. Combining premium tonewoods, dependable hardware, and the unmistakable punch of active EMG pickups, the EC-400QM is built to handle everything from crushing rhythm work to soaring leads.
Constructed using ESP’s Set-Thru neck design and a 24.75″ scale length, the EC-400QM offers excellent sustain alongside effortless upper-fret access. The Mahogany body is capped with a Quilted Maple top, finished in an eye-catching See Thru Black Sunburst that highlights the wood’s dramatic figuring.
A three-piece Mahogany neck features ESP’s comfortable Thin U profile, pairing speed with stability for everything from fast alternate picking to wide bends and extended soloing. The Rosewood fingerboard carries 22 Extra Jumbo frets across a 350mm radius, providing a smooth playing surface that’s equally suited to aggressive riffing and expressive lead work.
Electronics come courtesy of one of metal’s most iconic pickup combinations. An EMG 81 in the bridge delivers razor-sharp attack, tight low end, and exceptional clarity under high gain, while the neck-position EMG 85 provides a thicker, warmer voice that’s ideal for fluid solos, sustained melodies, and articulate clean passages.
Independent volume controls, a master tone control, and a three-way toggle switch offer familiar, intuitive operation.
Hardware is equally roadworthy. A traditional TOM-style bridge and tailpiece maximize tuning stability and sustain, while LTD locking tuners make string changes quicker and help keep the guitar locked in tune through demanding performances. Black hardware throughout reinforces the instrument’s modern, understated appearance.
