Well, he’s been talking about it for years, we’ve been speculating, it’s been painful. But it appears that it has finally manifested itself in physical form – the previously only speculated-about hypothetical 8-string John Petrucci EBMM (probably Majesty) guitar is confirmed to exist.
Today John posted a picture on his social media, a seemingly innocuous “today’s office” type of shot – but placed very prominently in the photo was the backside of a guitar headstock, and some budding mathematical wunderkinds in the comments section somehow calculated through complex quantum equations that there were 8 tuners on the headstock.
I’m intrigued to see what my beeg papa Trooch is gonna do with this beast on the new Dream Theater album that’s currently in the works, but I’m sure it’s gonna be nothing less than spectacular.
No word yet on when (or if ever) it will be available to the masses, but I’m sure when God wants us to know, he will tell us.
