FRETLOCKS Are Single String Capos For Playing “Impossible” Music

Well, here’s a good example of “why didn’t I think of that?” – seems like pretty low hanging fruit, and yet only now is someone making commercially available single string capos. Fretlocks are tiny metal capos that grab your strings and hold the note for you, allowing for otherwise impossible tuning scenarios that could lead to new creative worlds previously unexplored.

The website currently only has links to social media pages and a newsletter signup, but I’m hearing that they are supposed to be for sale very soon.

There’s only a few demos so far, and none of them are all that great, but its the possibilities that have me intrigued.

Thanks to Gear Mortal Morgan Ashire for bringing this to our attention!

As Editor-in-Chief of Gear Gods, I've been feeding your sick instrument fetishism and trying unsuccessfully to hide my own since 2013. I studied music on both coasts (Berklee and SSU) and now I'm just trying to put my degree to some use. That's a music degree, not an English one. I'm sure you noticed.
