A few weeks ago it seemed that DigiTech, arguably one of the biggest brands out there, was discontinued. DigiTech was no longer listed on their parent company Harman’s website, and every single product on the entirety of DigiTech’s website was currently listed as “not available.” Long story short, yes – DigiTech was temporarily absent because they were no longer a part of Harman. Fortunately they’re still around though (along with DOD), as they’ve been bought by Cor-Tek.

“We’re pleased to inform you that we, Cor-Tek Corporation, maker of Cort guitars, have entered into a purchase agreement to acquire the DigiTech/DOD brand, including all DigiTech/DOD intellectual property and assets.

“Since 1973, DigiTech/DOD guitar effect pedals have been iconic in the guitar industry, and we have a deep admiration for the heritage and legacy of the DigiTech/DOD products. We look forward to continuing the manufacturing and selling of the iconic products as well as investing in new features and products.”

So stay tuned – DigiTech ain’t dead!
