Would You Have a Use for the Beat Buddy’s Foot-Powered Drum Machine?

People keep emailing me news posts about this Beat Buddy pedal, and originally I had written it off. Because come on, this video is so painfully singer songwriter that I felt the need to plug a double kick pedal into a a 1000 watt bass amp just to put the metal back in my veins.

But strangely I’ve had some shredder buddies take an interest in it. Folks who want some rhythm tracks to jam along to as they sweep the dust off their fretboards, but don’t want to painstakingly program Superior Drummer or whatnot. Personally I’d still rather use a cheap Dr Rhythm or whatnot if I had to go with canned beats from external hardware, and I can’t see the use for triggering the beats live with my feet unless I’m strumming an old acoustic and singing off-key to 6 or 7 people sipping mochaccinos. But is there something I’m missing here? The funding sure as hell was successful.

Chris Alfano has written about music and toured in bands since print magazines and mp3.com were popular. Once in high-school he hacked a friend's QBasic stick figure fighting game to add a chiptune metal soundtrack. Random attractive people still give him high-fives about that.
