METALLICA Streamed a Live Rehearsal the Night Before the WORLDWIRED TOUR Kicked Off

In preparation for their massive North American tour with Volbeat and Avenged Sevenfold (and Gojira for several dates near the end) that began this week, Metallica hopped on stage for a 45-minute rehearsal rundown before the big gig the following night. Not that they need the extra experience or anything at this point, obviously, but slacking off just doesn’t seem to suit them.

It’s both really cool and slightly disconcerting to see them play to a virtually empty stadium, but I’m sure the handful of attendees there were stoked to see “For Whom the Bell Tolls,” “Battery,” and other mega-tunes in such an exclusive setting. And let’s face it, a “rehearsal” of this caliber might as well be the show itself. Oh, and I should also clarify that a “handful of attendees” in this case is a decent fucking crowd in any other venue, right?

For what it’s worth, you can also catch Papa Het in full-on dad garb, still slayin’ away like the goddamn legend that he is. You can head over to Metal Injection for more info about the Worldwired Tour, including a complete list of tour dates; chances are, this train’s coming through your ‘hood. Check it out!
