On this most recent edition of Ernie Ball’s String Theory, Tom DeLonge (ex-Blink-182) sits down to discuss his background with initially learning guitar, why music is so important to him, and his relationship with writing music for vastly different projects. He then goes onto topics like how he approaches live performance and the importance of not always being the “shreddiest” player in the room. It’s a super interesting look into a man who has been pretty damn prolific in the pop-punk world and beyond.
From Tom:
“My goal here is to have a vehicle that can handle big storytelling, big immersive musical experiences and trans-media experiences, that each time it happens it’s big enough and loud enough that it moves people to think a little differently at times.”
