MASTODON’s Brann Dailor Played Like an Octopus On New Album

As with any new Mastodon album, folks are curious to hear new tricks from master-drummer Brann Dailor, who, incidentally, is hot off a recent weeklong stint on Late Night With Seth Meyers.

After pursuing Genesis-era Phil Collins drum sounds on Mastodon’s last two albums, Brann attempted more of a 70’s hippie-rock tone for Emperor of Sand, with a major touchstone being bands like Heart. Which is super exciting if you’re a fan of that style of drumming! Check out the above clip for more info and pre-order the album via Reprise here.
