Gibson’s partnership with Metallica guitarist Kirk Hammett is yielding some interesting results. Earlier this year it looked like there was a purple Flying V in the works, and now it seems there’s a reboot of the Moderne V as well. This is especially cool, considering the Moderne never really got mass produced.
Gibson brand president Cesar Gueikian teased the new model on Instagram, saying “Experimental Prototype from the Gibson Lab. The concept developed with Kirk was ‘modernize the Moderne.’ Will we release it in the future? We don’t know (yet).” So it’s not exactly set in stone, but y’know – not out of the question either.
