With NAMM 2016 coming up in a week, I’ve been reflecting on my past experiences there, to think about how I can have a more productive and enjoyable time, and how I can help you to have one as well if you’re going. I’ve been to 5 total NAMM shows now (3 Winter and 2 Summer), and although I’m far from a seasoned vet, I’ve learned some things that I wish someone had told me the first time around. This video contains almost none of those things.
Here are some actual helpful tips:
- Bring more than one pair of shoes, and swap them out in the middle of the day. Your feet will feel refreshed.
- Gel insoles are key, especially if you have flat feet like me. Arch support helps too.
- Pace yourself. I pretty much run from one thing to the next for four straight days because I want to do it all. Don’t be like me.
- Bring a snack. You think you’ll have time to stop and eat, but sometimes you just don’t.
- Be friendly as FUCK. Every booth you go to will have nice people who want to talk to you, but who have said the same spiel 345873249587234 times already.
- Find me, I will give you Gear Gods picks.
