The OG Slam lords, Dying Fetus, have had a succession of killer drummers over their career. But Trey Williams might be the most ruthless blaster that they’ve ever had. He is easily one of the best Death Metal drummers in the game right now.
There is no greater example of Trey’s inhuman abilities than this recent drum-cam footage from the Brutal Assault festival in the Czech Republic. He absolutely murders the track ‘Your Treachery Will Die With You’, from the Dying Fetus album Descend into Depravity.

I first saw Dying Fetus in 2009 when they came out to Australia with The Faceless, Necrophagist and Aborted. So there was no lack of drum skills on the stage that night. But holy jeebus, Trey was grinding out blast beats faster, more consistently and with more apparent ease than anyone I’d ever seen.
Thinking about it now, I think the sheer concentration of drumming talent on that tour may well have permanently altered the earths rotational axis (the other drummers included Lyle Cooper and Romain Goulon, ffs!). But Trey still managed to stand out with his speed and savage drum shreddery.
After the show, I got to talk to him about his sweet Psyopus shirt and geeked-out with him about how Chris Arp is basically the John Lennon of our time. Nice dude.
