The Avedis Zildjian Company On How To Stop Cymbal Cracks

Like all PSAs, this one is a bit on the condescending side, but still, if you’re not an experienced drummer, this kind of advice might save you the absurd amount of money it takes to replace your cymbals all the time. Crack is bad, mmmkay?

Also – does anyone actually take the time/effort to glance to the side after every cymbal hit? I can’t imagine any metal player doing this, but I don’t play drums.

I studied music on both coasts (Berklee and SSU) and now I'm just trying to put my degree to some use. That's a music degree, not an English one. I'm sure you noticed.
