SHIGERU MIYAMOTO And THE ROOTS Play The Super Mario Bros. Theme On The Tonight Show!

Sixty-four year old game designer Shigeru Miyamoto joined The Tonight Show house band to perform the theme for his classic game Super Mario Brothers on the acoustic guitar. What a legend. Dude creates possibly the most popular video game of all time, chock full of classic characters that live on even today, AND he can play a mean guitar! Not only that, he jammed it with the coolest house band in all of late night TV – The Roots!

I hope that I’m as dope as this guy when I’m 64. I wonder if his co-workers refer to him as Nintendo 64? I sure would.

As Editor-in-Chief of Gear Gods, I've been feeding your sick instrument fetishism and trying unsuccessfully to hide my own since 2013. I studied music on both coasts (Berklee and SSU) and now I'm just trying to put my degree to some use. That's a music degree, not an English one. I'm sure you noticed.
