66SAMUS Covers DIMMU BORGIR’S “The Insight and the Catharsis” on Drums

66Samus (drummer for Decrepit Birth/Goatwhore, multi-instrumentalist, badass) covered a live version of Dimmu Borgir’s “The Insight and the Catharsis.” The track comes from Dimmu’s 1999 album, Spiritual Black Dimensions, with this particular live version following in 2001. 66Samus argues that this recording features their best lineup, and I’d have to agree with him there. The drums are clearly the stars here, but you can tell that this was one hell of a performance back in the day.

To hear more insane drum covers and tons of other on-topic content, head over to 66Samus’s channel and browse around.

And for the record, I don’t wanna hear any of you nincompoops whining about how Dimmu Borgir aren’t trve kvlt because of their legit talent and measurable success as black metal musicians, or because they use clean vocals, or whatever other asinine nonsense you can come up with. Fuck that noise; they’re the shit.
