Road dogs, social media titans, riff boys… Detroit’s metal warriors Battlecross have got it all going on. It seems like every time there’s a hot metal tour these days, Battlecross are on the bill. In the last few years, they’ve shared the stage with the likes of Machine Head, Children of Bodom, Trivium, Revocation, and more, all insane experiences which I’m sure have influenced the band to take things to the next level.
Which they seem poised to. Battlecross recently wrapped recording sessions on their upcoming, as-yet-untitled third Metal Blade release, with Mark Lewis and Jason Suecof at Audiohammer Studios. I think it’s an appropriate match: Audiohammer’s razor-sharp production capacity should suit Battlecross’s brand of classicly riffy metal well.
Although the album doesn’t have a release date yet, it should be out sometime this summer. The band have posted a brief teaser video from the sessions, which you can view below:
