PERIPHERY Explain Parallel Compression With GetGood Drums

Last week, Periphery guitarist Misha Mansoor and drummer Matt Halpern hosted a lengthy Facebook livestream to talk shop about a number of topics, including the critical mixing tactic parallel compression (aka New York Compression). Misha is always super informative and clear about mixing topics, and parallel compression is a super important, yet simple way to get your drum sound to cut through.

Check out the demo video below, courtesy Matt’s new endeavor GetGood Drums. You should check GetGood out if you haven’t already – it’s Matt and Nolly’s new drum software company – because as you can hear in the below videos, the first sample pack they’ve got out is a beast.
