Chris “Guitario” Cardone of KALIUM STRINGS Schools You on Scale Length

If there’s anyone on god’s green earth who knows their shit when it comes to scale length and string gauge, it’s Christopher Cardone. You may know him from the various and sundry memes/pictures/videos of his massive 24 string bass, thusly:

What you might not know is that he’s got his own string company, Kalium Strings, who provide the largest range of string gauges and lengths I’ve ever personally heard of (anything larger than they make and you’re gonna need to find a company that manufactures bridge cables).

In this informative video, Chris runs down the fundamentals of string gauge, string tension, and scale length.
