No matter how you feel about breakdowns over blastbeats and neck tattoos (inb4 deathcore sucks guy) you’ve gotta give it up for Suicide Silence. After enduring a crushing loss, they have come back with a new album entitled You Can’t Stop Me which dropped earlier this month (in between when this interview was filmed and when I’m posting it, heh) and are on the road with the Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Festival, and they seem to be in fine spirits.
I caught up with guitarist Mark Heylmun backstage, and chatted with him about his rig (of course) and his guitars, and plans for a second iteration of his signature ESP/LTD, the MKH-7. He’s a rad dude, and he had some cool stuff to say, so peep the video below.

Does anyone else think it’s funny that ESP/Epiphone both have an MKH-7 custom with EMGs in an LP body?

Yep. I wonder how that can happen? It’s not like Ibanez can put out a strat and call it a strat and not get sued.
