Is it just me, or have live drum triggers gone out of vogue recently? I remember back in the day, ten years or so ago, every death metal drummer had a DDrum or Roland unit on their kick and ran it to an Alesis DM5 for the best in metal clickiness. Or they just taped quarters to the drum head.
Nowadays, not so much. Maybe I just don’t go to the right shows. But for those of you who are looking to delve into the terrifying digital cyberscape of midi, DDrum have made this instructional video. It essentially goes over the basics, but you know what they say, you have to learn to “Walk” before you can “Becoming.”
