Diatonic Triad Chords – Trey’s Theory Corner, Episode 12

In every major key, there are 7 basic three-note chords (triads) that are made by stacking thirds, or by playing every other note of the scale. They’re always in the same order, and they’re always the same types of chords the same distance apart from each other and the root. Once you get this down, and know how to play it on your instrument, you’re gonna have such an easier time playing, writing, and improvising.
