Queens-based extreme metal band The Machinist recently released their first full-length album Confidimus in Morte back in April, and have been hard at work spreading the tunes ever since. The 4-piece has signed with Prosthetic Records recently as well, and now bassist Toby Osiene is here to show us how it’s done in this playthrough of the track “Predatory”, only right here, on Gear Gods!
With visceral qualities on all fronts, “Predatory” brings a level of energy that truly earns the band the title of playing “extreme” metal. And even through the punishing, searing riffs, vocals, and production, Toby’s bass playing is able to glue everything together in the best possible way. His bass tone is crushing and distinguishable but also packs enough low-end punch to remain the foundation throughout the entire track.
Here’s what Toby had to say about the track:
“For such a fast and pummeling song like “Predatory”, I need gear that can take a beating and keep on giving me that extra edge. My LTD B5E stocked with D’aadario Stainless steel strings keeps me ready to rip through any show I have with The Machinist.”
