One of the albums that’s taken me by surprise this year is Periphery‘s third record, Select Difficulty. I’ve never been a big fan of this band – I get the appeal, but they’re just not my thing. Yet I’ve really been enjoying this new album. It’s their most dynamic, raw, played piece of music to date.
It also features some honkin’ bass lines, courtesy Adam Nolly Getgood. Nolly recently laid down a playthrough clip for the track “Prayer Position,” which you can check out below:

Awesome and really raw tone. Also, why do people keep calling Select Difficulty their third album? Does Juggernaut not count as an album?
