The following was recently brought to my attention, and I hope it puts as much of a smile on your face as it did on mine. What follows is a performance by the Louisville Leopard Percussionists, a group of approximately 55 Kentucky student musicians, ages 7-12, getting the Led out with “Kashmir,” “The Ocean,” and “Immigrant Song” on marimbas, xylophone, vibraphone, drum set, timbales, congas, bongos and piano.
It’s a joy to hear this sort of music performed on those instruments, and yeah, it’s also heartwarming or whatever that half of them are still in the wet-the-bed stage.
Keep on rocking kids. Even the man Jimmy Page posted about this, saying “too good not to share.” That’s what I’m talking about.
