Archspire is a band that doesn’t know or care what limitations are. They’re an excellent example to anyone who’s ever thought that something was “too fast” or “too crazy” – those are things that don’t exist.
Vocalist Oliver Rae Aleron is also living proof that death metal vocals are more than just talentless burping. This guy is like Tech N9ne, but brutal. Faster than shit while maintaining a steady growl tone, he is a pillar of technique for the genre.
How does he do it, you ask? Well what do you know, we happen to have the answer just sitting here in this tutorial he did for us a while back. It’s all about the diaphragm, circular breathing, and listening to rap music.
So in that same vein, here he is performing their song “Fathom Infinite Depth” from the album The Lucid Collective.
