Peavey has been really doing up their licensed products thing, with guitars featuring all kinds of comic book characters (Marvel AND DC? Blasphemy). You could kind of think of them as the Phillip Morris of the music industry, hooking kids while they’re young and getting them addicted to something that will surely ruin their life and cause them to spend thousands upon thousands of dollars over their lifetime with negligible returns.
Well, that wasn’t nearly enough, as now they’re attempting to get the young ones to hit the harder stuff – drums. This seemingly innocent introduction will certainly be the beginning of a long and painful downward spiral, ending with girlfriend stealing, drooling, speeding up and slowing down, and an inability to wear deodorant. To this end they’ve produced a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Junior Drum Set and accompanying commercial.
But seriously, I would have fucking KILLED to have something this dope when I was that age. I only worry that this will lead a kid to think that drums is a toy, which leads to a very particular drummer attitude later in life. I won’t name any names.
They’re also doing a whole line of TMNT stuff, including guitars, ukuleles, and accessories. Which is cool, but hopefully they won’t be neglecting their line of heavy amps, because it’s kind of their bread and butter. Will it be more or less successful than their AutoTune guitar? Only Turtles in Time will tell.

Super tight snare, love it. Heard the TMNT 7 string is a djent machine as well. Only NAMM 2015 will tell.
