If you’re into sweet guitars (who am I kidding, you totally are), you’ve probably seen some of the sick, headless guitfiddles that Strandberg Guitars makes. With the central focus being an ergonomic design, Strandbergs are known for being super light, comfortable, and of course, headstock-less. One specific model, the Singularity, belongs to one of the forerunners in the Strandberg artist catalogue (and possible space wizard), Per Nilsson (Scar Symmetry). This model features Per’s signature red/black swirl design, True Temperament frets, and is available in 7 string models only…until now!
Strandberg just released this video of Per demoing a new prototype for a Singularity 8 string model. As the video description says, this model is also available with the True Temperament fretting system, as well as Lundgren Pickups. The model he’s playing appears to be in a blue/black swirl, which may or may not be the official Singularity 8 string color scheme. As of right now, there is no official release date for this new model, so only time will tell when it’s available for purchase.
Either way, if you’ve dug the Singularity style but have been wishing for a heavier version for all your 0-0-0-0-0-0-0s, now’s your chance! Be sure to keep tabs on what Strandberg has to offer on their shop site and Facebook.
