Megadeth, Angra, and solo artist shredmaster Kiko Loureiro has a couple new signature axes through Ibanez that you’re definitely gonna need to check out. With the main importance lying in versatility, these two new models, the KIKO10BP and KIKOSP2, were made with multiple genres in mind. Based on Kiko’s own interest in playing a wide range of music (metal, pop, and fusion) these puppies cater to the nuances of each specific sound.

For starters, the KIKO10BP model comes with a set of DiMarzio KIKO original pickups, giving the player tons of tonal range. The other main specs on this baby are a 5pc maple and walnut neck, flamed maple top, alder body, rosewood fretboard, jumbo frets, and an Edge-Zero II tremolo bridge. To top it off, it also has a super deep cut horn for maximum fret access, a tilt-in jack to hold your cable securely, and a coil-tap switch on the volume control. Lots of features, baby.

Meanwhile, the KIKOSP2 is a more affordable version of Kiko’s other signature axes, but still has a ton of neat features. It comes loaded with a set of Infinity R pickups that offer really great dynamics and versatility with its 5 way pickup selector. Spec-wise, we’re talkin’ about a maple neck, flamed maple top with a poplar body, rosewood fretboard, jumbo frets, and a Std. DL tremelo bridge. Definitely some sweet options for the lowered price tag.

The KIKO10BP is going for around $1,499, while the KIKOSP2 is about $599. If these beauties are right up your alley, check out Ibanez’s dealer page and find the closest one to you. You can also find out what Kiko himself is doing these days over on his website.
